Perros Guirec Seaside Town on the Pink Granite Coast

A seaside town on the pink granite coast between Brest and Rennes, Perros-Guirec is a haven for wildlife and particularly sea birds with seven small islands dotted off the coastline.

With nature reserves, parks, museums, churches, chapels and a fort, Perros-Guirec has plenty to entertain and combined with sporting and leisure activities such as tennis, ten pin bowling, mini-golf, casino, cinema, discos and concert hall make it an ideal daytrip for all the family.

Lannion Capital of Trégor

Located in the Brittany region, on the northern rugged coastline as part of the Granite Coast, Lannion is the capital of Trégor and has become a centre for telecommunications.

In the old part of the town, attractive narrow streets run down to the river lined with restored houses and every Thursday morning there is an excellent street market.

Château de Tonquédec Medieval château-fort

The Château de Tonquédec is a castle in Brittany, France and one of the most visited monuments in the département of the Côtes d'Armor. One of the most impressive French medieval sites, this château-fort, stands in a pleasant green forested countryside about 8.5 km (5.3 miles) south of Lannion. The present castle was built in the 15th century, on the site of an earlier 12th century castle.

ile dé Brehat Vehical free island

Ile dé Brehat is reached by a short boat trip from Arcouset, just north of Paimpol.

It is a vehicle free island with it's own semi tropical micro climate and is well known for its glass making and gardens. Ile de Bréhat can be fully explored in a day, either on foot, or by bicycle.

Paimpol Historical Fishing Port

With many 16th Century houses Paimpol has a history linked to the sea. From as early as the 15th Century it was a fishing port taking advantage of the excellent fishing grounds off Iceland and Newfoundland and it is now a popular destination for pleasure boats.

Just outside the town is the magnificent Abbey of Beauport founded in 1202 and today is open to the public with gardens of mediterranean plants and an excellent bird watching centre.

Pontrieux Picturesque town close to Kerhuel

Pontrieux is a picturesque town on the banks of the river Trieux with its Kayak centre with courses for beginners and good fishing with Salmon caught mid March to May and during the last two weeks of June.

Along with Tennis School and sports centre, Pontrieux has flower lined streets with historic buildings and several walks with routes up to 15km. Famous for its Lavoirs (wash houses) with over 50 in the town, in mid August Pontrieux plays host to the 'Fete des Lavoirs' (Washer Women Festival), with street performances & boat trips.

Château de la Roche-Jagu Restored Medieval Château

Just 20 minutes away from Pontrieux, Château de la Roche-Jagu is a fantastic medieval castle which has been brilliantly restored.

Between May and November the Château regularly holds exhibitions.

Quemper Guezennec Nearest village to Kerhuel

The closest village to Kerhuel, Quemper Guezennec has a chocolate farm, free tennis courts and just around the corner from our property is the Jardin de Melange an informal cottage garden.

There is an equestrian centre nearby which cater for all levels of horsemanship, coarse fishing lakes and a river and open water sailing experience can also be arranged catering for all abilities.

Guingamp Hstorical town

Guingamp is home to the football team of the same name and has picturesque streets with half timbered houses, granite fronts and the Plomée fountain. Dedicated to the Celtic Goddess, Ana, the fountain comprises three basins made from lead and granite.

Guincamp also has a medieval Castle and the 11th Century basilique Notre Dame de Bon Secours (Church of Our Lady of Good Help) and plays host each year to the traditional Breton dance festival, held in Mid August.

Saint-Brieuc Cultural centre with Cathedral

A popular cultural centre, Saint-Brieuc has concerts, musicals and theatre together with several museums and Saint Etienne Cathedral.

On Wednesdays and Saturday Mornings you can browse the market and there are plenty of good beaches together with walks and horse riding for the more active.

Morlaix Town with 18th Century viaduct

Morlaix is reknowned for its 18th Century viaduct spanning the valley in which the town lies. The local tourist office offers many walking tours around the picturesque streets and for the beer lovers the Brasserie des Deux Riviéres brews Coreff, a bitter which is very different from the normal French light beers.

During the summer months the town plays host to the Festival Les Arts dans la Rue every Wednesday from Mid July to Mid August with music, dancing and food.

Château de Rosanbo Capital of Trégor

Classed as a historic monument the Château was build in the 14th Century and extended in the 15th and 18th Centuries.

The Château has a country park and offers guided tours throughout the day.
